Dieseling, Run-on

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION
Engine continues to run after key is turned "OFF", but runs very roughly. If engine runs smoothly, check ignition switch/adjustment.


POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION


Spark plugs - Check for proper heat range and gap.


Ignition Timing - Check distributor indexing.


Engine Controller - Check for excessive spark advance (may cause high cylinder temperature).
