Intermittant Codes or Code Set But Problem Not Present

If the malfunction is not present while performing a test procedure, the diagnostic procedures will not locate the problem.

In this case, the stored code can only suggest an area to inspect.

If the following codes are being set intermittently, the ASDM should be replaced:

Safing Sensor Open

Safing Sensor Short

Diagnostic Module Type #1, #2 or #3

Low Stored Energy

If any other intermittent codes are stored, check for the following:

Loose or corroded connections

Damaged components

Damaged wiring

If no obvious problems are found, erase stored codes, and with the key ON, wiggle the wire harness and connectors.

Recheck for codes periodically as you work through the system.

This procedure may uncover a difficult to locate malfunction.
