B. Support Washer Replacement

1. Remove the liftgate support from the D-pillar and the liftgate.

CAUTION:
Make sure that the liftgate is supported.

2. Cut off the plastic retainers, then remove the washers from both support bolts. Discard the washers and retainers.

3. Install one of the supplied larger washers on each bolt.

4. Apply two (2) drops of Mopar Lock & Seal (PN 4318031) or equivalent, to the last four (4) threads of each bolt.

5. Reinstall the support and tighten the attaching bolts to 250 in-lbs (28 N.m).

NOTE:
The liftgate support must be installed with the tube end connected to the body and the rod end connected to the liftgate (Figure 2).

6. Remove the wood block and install the D-pillar trim panel.

7. Install the rear seat shoulder belt turning loop and tighten the bolt to 350 in-lbs (40 N.m) (Figure 1).

8. Repeat Steps 1-7 for the other support if necessary.
