Overrunning Clutch Vacuum Motor Replacement

REMOVAL

1. Remove drive line assembly, refer to REAR DRIVE LINE.
2. Cut vacuum line clamps, then disconnect.
3. Remove overrunning clutch cover attaching bolts, then remove cover.
4. Clamp assembly in suitable soft jawed vise.
5. Remove E-clips from motor shaft.
6. Slide motor from housing while holding clutch shift fork. Shift fork may be installed backwards. Note position before removal.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean and inspect all parts and surfaces. Replace worn or damaged components.
2. Slide vacuum motor in housing and through shift fork. Shift fork must be angled away from vacuum motor.
3. Install E-clips at shift motor shaft and vacuum motor bushing.
4. Apply bead of Mopar Gasket Maker part No. 4318083, Loctite Gasket Eliminator No. 518 or equivalent and install clutch cover, ensuring clutch fork engages into clutch dog. Torque attaching bolts to 250 inch lbs.
5. Check and fill fluids as required. Use only Mopar Type 7176 automatic transmission fluid or equivalent in overrunning clutch housing.
