W/Floor Shift

Fig. 15 Non-tilt wheel steering column (floor shift):

1. Disarm airbag system, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair.
2. Remove lower and upper cover attaching screws, then the covers.
3. Remove dimmer switch, then the ignition switch assembly.
4. Remove washer/wiper switch, then the turn signal switch.
5. Remove key buzzer switch, then the lock cylinder plunger attaching screw and plunger.
6. Remove lock cylinder, then the lock inhibitor attaching screw and inhibitor.
7. Remove upper bearing snap ring, then the steering shaft.
8. Reverse procedure to assemble.
9. Rearm airbag system, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING/DISARMING.
