Wipers Do Not Function In Delay Position

Fig. 21 Body Controller 25-way Connector:






1. Disconnect the 25-Way (black) connector from the body controller.
2. Place wiper control switch in maximum delay position.
3. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to pin 9 of black connector and negative lead to metal case of body controller.
4. If no voltage is present, check switch and wiring for an open circuit.
5. If voltage is present, connect positive lead of voltmeter to pin 22 black connector and negative to a good ground.
6. If no voltage is present, check fuses and wiring for an open circuit.
7. If voltage is present, reconnect body controller.
8. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to pin 24 and negative lead to metal case of body controller.
9. Disconnect wiring harness from wiper motor. set control switch to minimum delay mode.
10. If no voltage is present, check wiring from intermittent wipe switch to body controller for an open circuit.
11. If voltage is present, connect voltmeter to pin L of intermittent wiper switch. Place intermittent wiper switch in maximum delay position.
12. If no voltage is present, replace intermittent wiper switch.
13. If voltage is present, check wiring between intermittent wiper switch and wiper motor for an open circuit.
14. If all tests have been perform and problem was not found, replace body controller.
