Component Tests and General Diagnostics

When diagnosing and testing system refer to SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS / ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC DIAGRAMS for wiring diagram.

This rear anti-lock system is equipped with a self diagnosis system capable of reading and storing specific fault codes. When voltage of battery is low approximately 10 volts, do not make detection of abnormal places and output of failure code. While checking, confirm condition of battery. When battery power source and/or connector of control unit are disconnected, the diagnosis items are erased. Do not disconnect battery power until reading of diagnosis is completed.

After inspection and correction, disconnect battery ground cable for 10 seconds, after connection confirm failure indication code is erased.

1. Turn ignition switch Off.
2. Connect voltmeter, then check terminal of self-diagnosis check connector.
3. Turn ignition switch On.

4. Read output pattern of failure code.
5. When correction of faulty place is completed turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect battery terminal for more than 10 seconds.
6. Reconnect battery terminal and confirm the output pattern of failure code will not be indicated.
7. Disconnect voltmeter.
