NF-1A

NOTE: Perform TEST DR-1A before proceeding. DR-1A CODE to DR TEST Chart (Checking for Fault Codes)

1. Check for Technical Service Bulletins and manual updates that are related to the symptoms.

2. Perform NO FAULT QUICK TEST (individual test only).

NOTE: These tests are grouped by engine controller inputs, outputs, and non-monitored categories.

INPUTS OUTPUTS NON-MONITORED

Coolant Idle Speed Motor Secondary Ignition
TPS EGR Fuel Pressure
MAP Engine Vacuum
O2 Sensor Min. Idle Air Flow
P/N Switch Engine Mechanical

3. If you suspect any of the above items to be the cause of the driveability problem, perform the associated test(s). Otherwise perform TESTS NF-2A through NF-13A, in sequence until the problem is located.

NOTE: The following tests check for conditions which will cause a driveability problem but will not set a hard fault [1].

Checking Secondary Ignition And Timing NF-2A
Checking Fuel Pressure NF-3A
Checking Coolant And TPS Calibrations NF-4A
Checking Map Sensor Calibration NF-5A
Checking Oxygen Sensor Switching NF-6A
Checking Idle Speed Motor Operation NF-7A
Checking Park/neutral Switch (at Only) NF-8A
Checking Engine Controller Grounds NF-9A
Checking EGR Valve Operation (if equipped) NF-10A
Checking Engine Vacuum NF-11A
Checking Minimum Idle Air Flow NF-12A
Checking Engine Mechanical NF-13A
