Fuel Delivery and Air Induction: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

Supplies engine with sufficient fuel at correct pressure.

OPERATION

Electric pump pushes fuel through in line filter, to fuel rail, injectors (8), and pressure regulator.

Vacuum assisted regulator maintains pressure at injectors by allowing excess fuel to return to tank via return line.

Engine controller controls fuel flow through injectors by varying injector pulse width.

CONSTRUCTION

Fuel Delivery system consists of fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel rail, fuel injectors (8), and fuel pressure regulator.
