DATE: Dec. 20, 1991

SUBJECT: Transmission Removal Procedure

NOTE: THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO AB, AD, AND AN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 3.9/5.2L MULTI-POINT ENGINES.

MODELS:

DISCUSSION:

A crank position sensor has been installed on 1992 AB, AD, and AN vehicles equipped with 3.9/5.2L engines. The crank position sensor is bolted to the cylinder block near the rear of the right cylinder head. The crank position sensor could be damaged when removing or installing the transmission for repair. Prior to removing the transmission, the crank position sensor must be removed, and should not be installed until after the transmission has been installed back into the vehicle, to prevent any damage to the crank position sensor.
