Bendix Disc System 8 Lug Wheels

NOTE: The brake linings should be inspected any time the wheels and tires are removed.

1. Raise and support vehicle on a hoist or jack- stand.
2. Remove the tire and wheel, and visually inspect the outboard shoe linings at each end.
- Normally the highest rate of wear occurs here.
3. Inspect lining thickness on inboard shoe by looking down through caliper inspection hole.
- If the lining thickness at the thinnest point appears to be 0.030 (0.762mm) inch or less above the rivet heads, remove the shoes and linings.
4. Visually inspect the caliper for fluid leakage or other defects.
- If there is leakage, the caliper assembly should be overhauled.
