Recall Description

No. 576

October, 1993

To: All Dodge Truck Dealers

Subject:
Customer Satisfaction Notifications 576 through 583 -- Front Coil Springs

Models:
1993 and 1994 Model Year Dodge Ram Van/Wagon (AB) Vehicles Built Through April 7, 1993.

Some of the above listed vehicles were built with incorrect rate (too weak) front suspension coil springs which may allow lower control arm contact of the jounce bumper under minimal suspension input. This can result in customer complaints of harsh ride or suspension noises. To correct the condition, the front coil springs must be replaced with the proper rate springs.

Eight different front coil spring packages are involved, depending on the vehicle configuration. Therefore, the vehicles have been separated into eight different notification number groups to insure that the proper replacement springs are installed.

Details of this service action are explained in the following sections.
