SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The yellow ABS warning lamp comes on while driving and stays on until the ignition switch is turned off. The yellow ABS warning lamp most likely will not stay on past the bulb test cycle when the vehicle is restarted. An intermittent open in a wheel speed sensor circuit could be the cause, if so, a fault will be stored in the CAB (Control Anti-lock Brakes).

DIAGNOSIS:

Connect the Scan Tool (DRBII) or the Mopar Diagnostic System (MDS) to the Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) data link connector located at the lower left side of the instrument panel and check for stored fault codes for the ABS. If a wheel speed sensor fault exists, inspect that wheel speed sensor's connector for the molded on identification number "BNA-2". Refer to the illustration.

If the identification number molded on the connector is "BNA-2", perform the repair procedure.

If the identification number molded on the connector is NOT "BNA-2", perform the appropriate wheel speed sensor diagnostic test procedure outlined in the 1993 Chassis Bendix Anti-lock - 10 Brake System Diagnostic Procedure Manual (Publication No. 81-699-0322) or the Mopar Diagnostic System (MDS).
