Visual Inspection
NOTE: A thorough visual inspection can save unnecessary diagnostic time.
INSPECT THE FOLLOWING
Wires and Hoses Check routing and condition. Replace or repair any that are loose, disconnected, or misrouted. See ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS and VACUUM HOSES below.
Battery Connections Ensure they are clean and tight.
Generator Wiring And Belt Verify that they are correctly installed and tightened.
Engine Ground Strap Verify connections are clean and tight.
Ignition Cables Check routing and condition.
60-Way PCM Electrical Connection Check for damaged or spread terminals. Verify connector is fully inserted into the PCM socket. Ensure that wires are not stretched or pulled out of the connector.
Engine Harness To Main Harness Connections Verify that they are fully inserted.
Relays Verify all electrical connectors are fully inserted into relays.
Fuel Pump Hose and Wiring Connections Ensure connector is making contact with terminals on pump. Check hose connections and condition.
