Engine Runs Away (RPM Exceeds Maximum)

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION:

Engine rpm climbs rapidly. Engine rpm exceeds recommended rpm range, and frequently will not shut off when the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position.




POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

Leaking turbo seal - Repair seal or replace turbocharger
assembly.





Excessive crankcase blow-by - Repair as necessary.
