SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The under seat storage drawer may crack above the latch release handle. The cracking may be caused by interference (which in turn causes higher than normal closing effort) between the screws attaching the seat riser inner trim covers and the back of the under seat storage drawer.
DIAGNOSIS:
Inspect the back of the storage drawer for two round spots/holes scratched into the plastic of the drawer (refer to the illustrations). If spots/holes are found, perform the repair procedure.

2 154657 Screw, 1/2" Long
1 S488KD5 Drawer, Storage
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the under seat storage drawer and installing shorter screws that attach the right and left seat riser inner trim covers.
1. Open the under seat storage drawer and remove by pushing in on the right and left guide catches/clips and pulling drawer forward out of the guides.
2. Remove the screws attaching the right and left seat riser inner trim covers and discard the screws.
3. Attach the right and left seat riser inner trim covers with new screws, P/N 154657.
4. Install the replacement under seat storage drawer by sliding it into the guides.
