These disc brake units consist of ventilated, machinable rotors, inboard and outboard pads attached by springs and fully serviceable sliding calipers. The calipers slide laterally upon pins which secure them to mounting adapters.

A single, non-metallic caliper piston is used to apply braking force to the inboard brake pad while the caliper body slides on Teflon sleeves. The caliper piston seal controls the amount of piston extension necessary to compensate for normal lining wear; this provides consistent brake pedal travel throughout the life of the brake linings.
