These axle assemblies, are integral carrier housing hypoid gear type with centerline of drive pinion mounted below center line of ring gear. Drive pinion is supported by two preloaded taper roller bearings and front and rear pinion bearing cones are pressed on pinion stem. Front and rear pinion bearing cups are pressed against a shoulder that is recessed within carrier casting. Drive pinion depth of mesh adjustment is controlled by installing metal shims between rear pinion bearing cup and carrier casting.

Gear ratio is identified by small tag on housing cover.
