Match Mounted Tire/Wheel Assemblies

DISCUSSION:
The tire and wheel assemblies on some Dodge Trucks and Vans are being marked for match mounting. This provides for improved ride characteristics, and is being phased in on all truck wheels. This bulletin provides a listing of truck models and wheels that are affected at this time. For further technical information regarding match mounting, refer to Group 22 of the appropriate Service Manual.
IDENTIFICATION:
Markings are used to align the low runout spot on the wheel with the high runout location of the tire. A temporary sticker Is placed on the wheel flange. Michelin tires are marked with a similar sticker. Goodyear tires are presently marked with a paint dot and will have a sticker in mid February.

DAKOTA:
The Dakota wheels are marked and match mounted on vehicles shipped from Warren Truck Assembly only. These vehicles can be identified by an "S" in the eleventh digit of the vehicle identification number.
