Emissions Recall # 715 -- VECI Label Replacement

^ This service requirement applies only to 1997 model year Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager (NS) vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine ("B" in the 8th VIN position) and a California emission control system (Sales Code -- NAE) built through December 6, 1996 (MDH 120612).

^ The Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label installed on the above listed vehicles contains an incorrect emission configuration code and emission control system bar code. These codes identify the engine family and emission system configuration for vehicle emission testing. As a result, an incorrect label may cause the vehicle to fail an emissions test. To correct this condition, a new VECI label must be installed.

Parts Packages:

^ Replacement labels are being mailed directly to owners. The owners are requested to install the labels themselves or, if preferred, to arrange for dealer installation of the owner supplied label without charge.
