Fog/Driving Lamp: Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The optional fog lamp can operate only when the headlamps are ON and the operator has selected LOW beam operation.

Power for the fog lamps is supplied on circuit L43 for the left fog lamp and circuit L44 for the right fog lamp.

Circuit L43 is protected by a 15 Amp fuse located in cavity 23 of the Power Distribution Center (PDC), and circuit L44 is protected by a 15 Amp fuse located in cavity 22 of the PDC.

When the operator turns the fog lamps ON, a ground path is completed on circuit L39 from the lamps, through the CLOSED contacts in the headlamp switch to circuit Z1. This is the ground circuit.

Circuit L44 is spliced in with the right headlamp and supplied power to the fog lamp ON indicator in the headlamp switch. Ground for the switch is supplied on the Z1 circuit, same as the fog lamp switch.
