Blower Motor Switch: Description and Operation

BLOWER MOTOR SWITCH
Front
The front heater-only or heater-A/C blower motor is controlled by a toggle switch mounted in the heater-A/C control panel. The heater-only switch allows for the selection of three blower speeds and has an Off position. The heater-A/C switch allows for the selection of four blower speeds, but can only be turned off by selecting the Off position with the push button mode control switch.

The heater-only blower motor switch receives ignition-switched battery feed from a fuse in the fuseblock module. The heater-A/C blower motor switch receives ignition-switched battery feed from a fuse in the fuse-block module through the push button mode control switch. The blower motor switch directs current to the blower motor relay or blower motor resistor as required to achieve the selected blower motor speed.

The front blower motor switch cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged, it must be replaced.

Rear
The rear heater-only or heater-A/C blower motor is controlled by a toggle switch mounted in the instrument panel heater-A/C control bezel below the heater-A/C control panel. The switch allows for three blower motor speeds and an Off position.

The rear blower motor switch receives battery feed from the rear blower relay, which is energized when the ignition switch is in the On position. The rear blower motor switch directs current to the rear blower motor resistor as required to achieve the selected rear blower motor speed.

The rear blower motor switch cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged, it must be replaced.
