Transmission Temperature Sensor

NOTE: This input is used in the shift operation for 4-speed electronic transmissions only.

The temperature data is used for: torque converter clutch operation, overdrive shift, low temperature shift compensation, wide open throttle shift strategy and governor pressure transducer calibration.

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The transmission temperature sensor is located in the transmission solenoid assembly. The sensor is a variable resistor, as transmission temperature changes the resistance in the sensor changes. Circuit T34 connects from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to the sensor.

Ground for the sensor is supplied on circuit K4. This circuit is the ground circuit for many of the components used in the fuel/ignition system.
