Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) - Assembly Replacement

CHMSL Housing:

The CHMSL assembly is bonded to the roof with urethane.

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage painted surfaces when removing the housing.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the two screws holding the lamp assembly to the housing.
2. Using a sharp knife, start at the upper left corner and working left to right, carefully cut urethane between CHMSL housing and roof.
3. Grasp upper edge of the CHMSL housing and firmly pull downward to separate housing from roof.
4. Disengage harness connector.

INSTALLATION
The roof and CHMSL housing should be cleaned of its old urethane bonding material.
1. Apply a 1/4 inch bead of urethane around the perimeter of the roof opening.
2. Connect harness connector.
3. Position the CHMSL housing over the roof depression and slowly lower the CHMSL housing onto the roof depression.
4. Clean excess urethane from exterior with Mopar Super Clean or equivalent.
5. Install the two screws holding the lamp assembly to the housing.

NOTE: Allow the urethane a minimum of 4 hours to cure before returning the vehicle to use.
