Fuel Level Unit No Change Over Miles
Name of Code:Fuel Level Unit No Change Over Miles
When Monitored:
Ignition on.
Set Condition:
The fuel level sending unit voltage reads between 2.5 and 4.7 volts (low fuel) for more than 80 miles.
Theory of Operation:
The fuel level sending unit sends a variable voltage to the powertrain control module to indicate low fuel level. The purpose of these features is to prevent false setting of misfire and fuel system codes when the vehicle is operating at low fuel levels. A separate sending unit for the instrument panel fuel gauge is used.
Possible Causes:
- Open sensor signal wire
- Fuel level sending unit failure
- powertrain control module
- Connector wires
- Connector terminals
