Left Door Key Cylinder Disarm Switch Failure
SYMPTOM* LEFT DOOR KEY CYLINDER DISARM SWITCH FAILURE
TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test ILLUMINATED ENTRY INOPERATIVE WITH DRIVER DOOR KEY CYLINDER.
WHEN MONITORED
Each switch inside the door has a unique resistance value which when activated sends a voltage level to the BCM. The BCM will interpret the different levels and perform the desired function.
SET CONDITION
The BCM senses a voltage of 2 volts (± 250 mV) on the LF door switch MUX circuit for longer than 8 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Driver door key switch unlock position stuck
- Driver door key cylinder switch defective
- Driver door key switch sticking
