P1596 Speed Control Switch Always High

SYMPTOM
P-1596 S/C SWITCH ALWAYS HIGH

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key on.

SET CONDITION
An open condition is detected in the speed control on/off switch circuit.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Clock spring defective
- Ground ckt to speed control switch open
- On/off switch defective
- PCM defective
- S/C on/of switch wiring harness observable defect
- Sig ckt to clock spring open
- Speed control switch signal circuit short to voltage
