Liftgate Key Cylinder Arm Switch Failure
SYMPTOMLIFTGATE KEY CYLINDER ARM SWITCH FAILURE
WHEN MONITORED
Each switch inside the door has a unique resistance value which when activated sends a voltage level to the BCM. The BCM will interpret the different levels and perform the desired function.
SET CONDITION
The BCM senses a voltage of 4.0 volts (± 250 mV) on the liftgate switch MUX circuit for longer than 8 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Liftgate key cylinder switch lock malfunction
- Liftgate key cylinder switch sticking
- Liftgate key cylinder switch stuck in lock position
