Recirculation Air Door Replacement



RECIRCULATION AIR DOOR

The recirculation air door can be serviced without removing the recirculation housing from the vehicle.

REMOVAL

1. Remove the heater-A/C housing from the vehicle.Refer to: "Housing Assembly HVAC : Service and Repair" Service and Repair

2. Remove the recirculation air door actuator from the top of the recirculation housing.

3. Remove the nut that secures the lever to the recirculation air door pivot shaft, and remove the lever from the shaft.

4. Remove the eight screws that secure the top cover to the recirculation housing.

5. Remove the top cover from the recirculation housing.

6. Lift the recirculation air door pivot shaft out of the pivot hole in the bottom of the recirculation housing.

INSPECTION

Inspect the recirculation housing top cover seal for damage. Replace all damaged or deformed seals. Remove any foreign material or other restrictions to air flow from the housing. Repair or replace any faulty or damaged components as required.

INSTALLATION

1. Insert the lower recirculation air door pivot shaft into the pivot hole in the bottom of the recirculation housing.

2. Position the top cover onto the recirculation housing. Be certain that the recirculation air door pivots freely within the housing.

3. Install the eight screws that secure the top cover to the recirculation housing.

4. Position the lever onto recirculation air door pivot shaft and secure it with a nut.

5. Reinstall the recirculation air door actuator onto the top of the recirculation housing. See Mode Door Vacuum Actuators - Recirculation Air Door Actuator in the Replacement for the procedures.

6. Reinstall the heater-A/C housing in the vehicle. Refer to: "Housing Assembly HVAC : Service and Repair" Service and Repair
