VIN Message Mismatch (Active)
SYMPTOMVIN MESSAGE MISMATCH (ACTIVE)
WHEN MONITORED
At ignition on the ACM will compare the PCM body style to a stored ACM body style. If the body styles are not the same the code will set.
SET CONDITION
At ignition on ACM monitors CCD bus for a message from PCM containing the complete VIN. From the 7th character of the VIN, ACM determines the body styles BE (2 or 3) and BR (6). After identifying the PCM body type, ACM compares it to a stored body style.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Active code present only with PAB ON/OFF SW OFF
- PCM Defective - VIN program failed
- ACM Defective, PCM VIN# wrong
