Intermittent Wipe Module ReplacementREMOVAL
An intermittent wipe module is used on vehicles that are not equipped with the optional Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS). See Intermittent Wipe Module and Central Timer Module in the Description and Operation for more information.
WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, REFER TO AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS/AIR BAGS BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Roll down the glove box from the instrument panel. Refer to Glove Box - Roll Down in the Replacement of Instrument Panel Systems for the procedures.
Intermittent Wipe Module Remove/Install:
3. Reach through and above the glove box opening to access the intermittent wipe module. Push the module towards the front of the vehicle to disengage the snap-fit slot on the intermittent wipe module from the slide tab of the mounting bracket on the instrument panel armature.
4. Lower the intermittent wipe module into the instrument panel glove box opening far enough to access and unplug the wire harness connector.
5. Reverse the removal procedures to install.
