NV241HD Transfer Case
DESCRIPTIONRecommended lubricant for the NV241HD transfer case is Mopar Dexron III, or ATF+3, type 7176. Use this fluid for topping off the level, refilling after service, or normal fluid changes.
Do not use anti-friction additives or similar products in the NV241HD transfer case. Use recommended lubricant only.
Approximate lubricant refill capacity is 3.1 liters (6.5 pints) for the NV241HD.
Correct fluid level for the transfer case is to the bottom edge of the fill plug hole. Be sure that the vehicle is level when checking the fill level.
OPERATION
The transfer case lubricant is selected to provide the highest level of protection for the internal components by providing a lubricating film between adjacent metal components. The lubricant also serves to cool the components by transferring the heat from the component to the transfer case housing, whereby the heat is radiated to the atmosphere.
