The fuel temperature sensor is located on the right/rear side of the fuel rail (Fig. 47).
REMOVAL
WARNING: NATURAL GAS MUST FIRST BE PURGED FROM FUEL SYSTEM BEFORE SENSOR REMOVAL.
1. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover in the 2000 RAM VAN/WAGON-REAR WHEEL DRIVE.
2. Purge fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Purging.

3. Disconnect electrical connector at sensor (Fig. 48). Do not pull directly on wires.
4. Remove sensor from fuel rail. Use a back up wrench on fuel rail hex to prevent damage to fuel rail.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply a small amount of anaerobic thread sealant to pipe threads only of sensor. Be extremely careful not to get any of thread sealant into any fuel system opening. Use only an anaerobic thread seal- ant containing Teflon (TM).
2. Install sensor to fuel rail. Tighten sensor to 7 Nm (65 in. lbs.) torque.
3. Connect electrical connector.
4. Check sensor for gas leaks. Refer to Testing For Gas Leaks.
5. Install engine cover.
