Drum Brake System: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION





1500 series vehicles use, eleven inch two-shoe internal expanding drum brakes.





2500/3500 series vehicles use, twelve and one eighth inch two-shoe internal expanding rear drum brakes.

OPERATION
All applications are two-shoe, internal expanding units with a self adjuster mechanism. A single wheel cylinder is used to expand the dual brake shoes. The lower ends of the brake shoes are connected by an adjusting screw assembly which is part of the self adjusting mechanism.
