A. Inspect Engine Serial Number

1. Open the hood and locate the engine data plate located on the left (driver's) side of the engine timing gear cover (Figure 1).

^ If the engine serial number is 56662576 through 56671920, the diesel fuel transfer pump must be replaced. Continue with Section B - Replace Diesel Fuel Transfer Pump.

^ If the engine serial number is LESS than 56662576 OR GREATER than 56671920, no further action is required. Return the vehicle to the customer.
