SYMPTOM
P0740-TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH, NO RPM DROP AT LOCKUP

WHEN MONITORED
Continuously with the key ON.

SET CONDITION
This code wills set if the Torque Convertor Clutch (TCC) cannot achieve the desired drop in engine RPM when the TCC solenoid is near the maximum duty cycle. Two trips of three consecutive bad tests are required to set the code. (Vehicle not in low range)

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Check for misfire DTCS
- Intermittent TCC solenoid
- Check the transmission fluid level and condition
- Input shaft seals
- Internal problem or TCC solenoid
- Oil pump/shaft/seals
- Torque converter
- Valve body
