Seat Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Disconnect the 4-way heated seat wire harness connector. Refer to Wiring for connector locations and complete electrical system schematics.
2. Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance through the heated seat sensor. The heated seat sensor resistance should be between 600 ohms and 200 kilohms. If OK, go to Step 3. If not OK, replace the faulty heated seat cushion element.
3. Test the seat wire harness between the heated seat module connector and the 4-way heated seat wire harness connector for a shorted or open heated seat sensor circuit. If OK, proceed with checking the other components in the heated seat system. If not OK, repair the shorted or open heated seat wire harness as required.
