Front Door: Service and Repair

DOOR

REMOVAL

1. Remove the waterdam. Refer to Front Door Panel.
2. Disconnect power window harness connector, if equipped.
3. Disconnect power mirror harness connector, if equipped.
4. Disconnect power lock harness connector, if equipped.
5. Disconnect speaker harness connector.
6. Disengage main wire harness retainers from door panel
7. Route harness through door.
8. Support door with a padded floor jack.
9. Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of hinge on door.
10. Remove bolts attaching hinge to door.
11. Separate door from vehicle.
12. If equipped, identify and retain door hinge shims for installation.

INSTALLATION

1. Position door in body door opening.
2. Support door with a padded floor jack.
3. Align hinge with reference marks on door.
4. Install bolts attaching hinge to door. Tighten bolts to 28 N.m (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
5. Remove floor jack from door.
6. Route harness through door.
7. Engage main wire harness retainers to door panel
8. Connect speaker harness connector.
9. Connect power lock harness connector, if equipped.
10. Connect power mirror harness connector, if equipped.
11. Connect power window harness connector, if equipped.
12. Install the waterdam.
