Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
The Intake Manifold Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is located in the front/side of intake manifold. If equipped with a 5.2L/5.9L V-8 engine, removal/installation may be done from front of vehicle without removal of engine cover or air cleaner housing. If equipped with a 3.9L V-6 engine, the engine cover and air cleaner housing must be removed.
1. Disconnect negative battery cable at battery.
2. 3.9L V-6 Engine Only:
a. Remove engine cover.
b. Remove air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Housing Removal/Installation.

3. Disconnect electrical connector at sensor.
4. Remove sensor from intake manifold.

INSTALLATION
The intake manifold air temperature (IAT) sensor is located in the front/side of intake manifold. If equipped with a 5.2L/5.9L V-8 engine, removal/installation may be done from front of vehicle without removal of engine cover or air cleaner housing. If equipped with a 3.9L V-6 engine, the engine cover and air cleaner housing must be removed.
1. Install sensor to intake manifold. Tighten to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
2. Install electrical connector.
3. 3.9L V-6 Engine Only:
a. Install engine cover.
b. Install air cleaner housing. Refer to Air Cleaner Housing Removal/Installation.

4. Connect negative battery cable to battery.
