SYMPTOM
P1596-SPEED CONTROL SWITCH ALWAYS HIGH

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key on.

SET CONDITION
An open circuit is detected in the speed control on/off switch circuit. The circuit must be above 4.8 volts for more than 2 minutes to set the DTC.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Speed control on/off switch operation
- S/C on/off switch
- Clockspring
- (V37) S/C switch signal circuit shorted to voltage
- (V37) S/C switch signal circuit open between PCM and clockspring
- (K4) sensor ground circuit open between PCM and clockspring
- (V37) S/C switch signal circuit open between clockspring and S/C switch
- (K4) sensor ground circuit open between clockspring and S/C switch
