Fuel Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
The fuel low-pressure sensor (transducer) is located on the right side of the fuel injector rail.

WARNING: NATURAL GAS MUST FIRST BE PURGED FROM FUEL SYSTEM BEFORE REMOVAL. REFER TO FUEL SYSTEM PURGING.

1. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Removal/Installation.
2. Purge fuel system.
3. Disconnect electrical connector at sensor.
4. Remove sensor from fuel rail. Use a backup wrench on fuel rail to prevent damage to rail.

INSTALLATION
The fuel low-pressure sensor (transducer) is located on the right side of the fuel injector rail.
1. Apply a small amount of anaerobic thread sealant to pipe threads only of sensor. Be extremely careful not to get any of thread sealant into any fuel system opening. Use only an anaerobic thread sealant containing Teflon(TM).
2. Install sensor to fuel rail.
3. Tighten sensor to 14 Nm (120 in. lbs.) torque.
4. Connect electrical connector.
5. Check sensor for gas leaks. Refer to Testing For Gas Leaks
6. Install engine cover.
