Front Door: Adjustments

ADJUSTMENT

FRONT DOOR FORE/AFT

Fore/aft (lateral) door adjustment is done by loosening hinge to cowl bolts one hinge at a time. Then move door to correct position.
1. Support door with a padded floor jack.
2. Loosen hinge to cowl bolts. Move door to correct fore/aft position.
3. Tighten hinge to cowl bolts to 28 N.m (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
4. Remove floor jack from door.

FRONT DOOR IN/OUT

In/out door adjustment is done by loosening hinge to door bolts. Then move door to correct position.
1. Support door with a padded floor jack.
2. Loosen applicable hinge to door bolts. Move door to correct in/out position.
3. If necessary, loosen other hinge to door bolts and move door to correct in/out position.
4. Tighten hinge to door bolts to 28 N.m (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
5. Remove floor jack from door.

FRONT DOOR UP/DOWN

Up/down door adjustment is done by loosening hinge to cowl bolts at both hinges. Then move door to correct position.
1. Support door with a padded floor jack.
2. Loosen hinge to cowl bolts at both hinges. Move door to correct up/down position.
3. Tighten hinge to cowl bolts to 28 N.m (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
4. Remove floor jack from door.

FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE/LATCH LEVER

1. Insert a 4 mm (5/32 in.) hex-wrench through the adjustment slot and into the latch release lever adjustment screw. Loosen the adjustment screw.
2. Depress and release the door outside handle latch release button several times.
3. Tighten the adjustment screw to 3 N.m (30 in. lbs.) torque.
4. Test the door handle for correct operation.
