Passenger Door Lock Switch Inoperative - Without Memory
PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH INOPERATIVE - WITHOUT MEMORY
Passenger Door Lock Switch Inoperative - Without Memory:
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- (G161) Driver door lock switch mux circuit short to ground
- (G161) Driver door lock switch mux circuit open
- (Z940 Ground circuit open
- Door lock switch switch
- Instrument cluster
Theory of operation
This test is only for vehicles that do not have the Memory System.
Diagnostic Test
1. (Z974) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Passenger Window/Door Lock Switch connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z974) Ground circuit
Q: Does the Test Light illuminate brightly?
YES: Go To 2
NO: Repair the (Z974) Ground circuit for an open. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. DOOR LOCK SWITCH SHORTED
Measure the voltage of the (G160) Passenger Door Lock Switch Mux circuit.
Q: Is the voltage approximately 5.0 volts?
YES: Replace the Passenger Window/Door Lock Switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
NO: Go To 3
3. (G160) PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Cluster C2 connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (G160) Passenger Door Lock Switch Mux circuit.
Q: Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?
YES: Repair the (G160) Passenger Door Lock Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
NO: Go To 4
4. (G160) PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT OPEN
Measure the resistance of the (G160) Passenger Door Lock Switch Mux circuit between the Cluster C2 connector and the Passenger Window/ Door Lock Switch connector.
Q: Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
NO: Repair the (G160) Passenger Door Lock Switch Mux circuit for an open. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
YES: Replace the Instrument Cluster. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
