Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
UNIVERSAL TRANSMITTERIf the universal transmitter is inoperative, but the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) or Compass Mini-Trip Computer is operating normally, see the owner's manual in the vehicle glove box for instructions on training the universal transmitter. Retrain the universal transmitter with a known good transmitter as instructed in the owner's manual and test the universal transmitter operation again. If the unit is still inoperative, replace the faulty universal transmitter and EVIC/CMTC module as a unit. If both the universal transmitter and the EVIC/CMTC module are inoperative, refer to Overhead Console Diagnosis and Testing earlier in this group for further diagnosis.
