MIC-Glove Box/MAP Lamp Output Circuit Shorted or Open
MIC-GLOVEBOX-MAP LAMP OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORTED OR OPENMIC - Glovebox-Map Lamp Output Circuit Shorted Or Open:
WHEN MONITORED
Continuously
SET CONDITION
The CCN detects a short condition
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Glovebox-map lamp output circuit short to ground
- Instrument cluster
1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R), clear all MIC DTC's.
Turn the Glove Box Lamps on.
With the DRBIII(R), read the DTC information.
Q: Does the DRBIII(R) read: Glove box/Map Lamp Output Circuit Short/Open?
YES: Go To 2
NO: The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. GLOVEBOX-MAP LAMP OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Glovebox Lamp Switch Harness connector.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C1 connector.
Measure the resistance of the Glovebox Lamp Output circuit to ground.
Q: Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
YES: Repair the Glovebox-Map Lamp Output circuit. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
NO: Replace the Instrument Cluster. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
