A/C Status Indicator Will Not Illuminate - A/C Heater Control Without EBL SW

A/C STATUS INDICATOR WILL NOT ILLUMINATE - A/C HEATER CONTROL WITHOUT EBL SW

Theory of Operation
Failing recalibration will prevent the A/C status indicator from operating but still allows the A/C mode switch to function normally. This test verifies if the status indicator is inoperable due to either a recalibration failure or a fault with the status indicator.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- HVAC door recalibration failed
- A/C Heater control

Diagnostic Test

1. PERFORM THE HVAC DOOR RECALIBRATION
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII(R) in HVAC, select System Tests and then select HVAC Door Recalibration.
Allow the test to run to completion before proceeding.

Q: Does the DRBIII(R) display: Recalibration Test Failed?

YES: Diagnose and repair the fault(s).
NO: Replace the A/C Heater Control. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
