Ambient Temperature Sensor:

ATC computer monitors ambient temperature from the compass mini trip computer (CMTC) and converts it to degrees Fahrenheit.

The Ambient Temperature is mounted near the front and center of the vehicle, and is hard wired to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM sends temperature status messages to the module over the Programmable Communication Interface (PCI) data bus circuit.
