Rear Heater Hoses
REMOVAL1. Remove the rear HVAC housing and place it on a workbench.
Rear Heater Core And Bracket:
2. Remove the screw that secures the rear heater core tube bracket to the rear HVAC housing.
3. Release the two retaining tabs that secure the rear heater core in the rear HVAC housing.
4. Carefully pull the rear heater core out of the end of the rear HVAC housing. If the foam seals on the heater core are deformed or damaged, they must be replaced.
5. If required, remove the two retaining clips that secure the heater core tubes to the rear heater core and remove the tubes from the heater core.
6. Remove and discard the two O-ring seals from the heater core tubes.
INSTALLATION
1. If removed, lubricate new rubber O-ring seals with clean engine coolant and install them onto the heater core tube fittings. Use only the specified O-rings as they are made of a special material for the engine cooling system.
2. If removed, install the heater core tubes onto the rear heater core and install the two retaining clips. Make sure that the clips are installed correctly and securely.
3. Install the rear heater core into the end of the rear HVAC housing. Make sure that the foam seals are properly installed and that the two retaining tabs are fully engaged.
4. Install the screw that secures the heater core tube bracket to the rear HVAC housing. Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.).
NOTE: If the heater core is being replaced, flush the cooling system.
5. Install the rear HVAC housing.
