SUBJECT:
Oil Pressure Indicator Illuminated and DTC P0522 Stored in PCM
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing one bolt on the oil filter adapter.
MODELS:
2006 (RS) Town & Country/Caravan
2006 (RG) Chrysler Voyager (International Markets)
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to 2006 RS and RG vehicle equipped with a 3.3L or 3.8L engines (sales code EGA, EGH or EGM) and built between August 3, 2005 (MDH 0803XX) and September 24, 2005 (MDH 0924XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may describe that the oil pressure indicator is on while driving and further diagnostic investigation by the technician may reveal that Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0522 - Pressure Sensor Low is stored in the PCM.
This condition may be caused by the oil pressure adaptor not having a sufficient ground path because of the coating on the bolts that hold the adapter in place.
NOTE:
The new adapter bolt is gray in color. If vehicle has the gray bolt(s) already installed then do not perform this repair, further diagnosis is required
**DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (DRBIII(R)) with the appropriate diagnostic procedures on TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DIGs are present, other than the one listed above, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the customer describes the Symptom/Condition and the DTC listed is present, perform the Repair Procedure.**

NOTE:
The new adapter bolt is gray in color. If vehicle has the gray bolt(s) already installed then do not perform this repair, further diagnosis is required
1. Remove and discard the top left adapter bolt from the oil pressure filter adapter (6) (Fig. 1).
2. Install the new filter adapter bolt (p/n 06101793) and tighten to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.) (Fig. 1).
3. Connect the DRBIII(R) and erase any DTC's in the PCM.
