B1888
B1888-POWER LIFTGATE PINCH SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT LOWB1888 - Power Lifgate Pinch Sensor 1 Circuit Low:
WHEN MONITORED
Whenever the Power Liftgate Module is awake.
SET CONDITION
The power liftgate module has detected the left pinch sensor circuit voltage is under 0.5 volts for over 20 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- (Q75) Left pinch sensor signal wire short to ground
- Left pinch sensor
- Power liftgate module - pinch sensor 1 circuit shorted
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record DTC's and any liftgate inhibitors. Erase DTC's Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on. Operate the liftgate several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Q: Does the scan tool display B1888-POWER LIFTGATE PINCH SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT LOW?
YES: Go To 2
NO: Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. LEFT PINCH SENSOR SHORTED
Disconnect the Left Pinch Sensor connector Erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Q: Does the scan tool display B1888-POWER LIFTGATE PINCH SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT LOW?
YES: Go To 3
NO: Replace the left pinch sensor. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
3. (Q75) LEFT PINCH SENSOR SIGNAL WIRE SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q75) Left Pinch Sensor Signal circuit.
Q: Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?
NO: Replace the Power Liftgate Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
YES: Repair the (Q75) Left Pinch Sensor Signal wire for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
